connecting habitats – finding ways together

The project „Network Natural Forests“ has been initiated by Kalkalpen National Park (in the province of Upper Austria) in collaboration with Gesäuse National Park (in the province of Styria) and the Dürrenstein Wilderness Area (in the province of Lower Austria). Each of these protected areas is a natural jewel with its unique natural habitats.

In between there lies the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature & Geopark which will work also on th econnectivity of the three protected areas.

For long term preservation of biodiversity natural interchange between populations of wild animals and plants is necessary. The project shall ensure this interchange – via connecting habitats.

Both inhabitants and visitors in the long grown cultural landscape shall benefit also from the planned compound of biotopes – finding ways together.
